Breaking! Justice Kekere-Ekun sworn in as 23rd CJN

Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun has been sworn in as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria by President Bola Tinubu at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja.

Kekere-Ekun took the oath of office and signed the oath register on Friday, pending her confirmation by the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly.

She succeeds Ariwoola, who bowed out on Thursday, upon attaining the mandatory retirement age of 70 years.

Ariwoola took charge of the apex court following the resignation of his predecessor, Justice Tanko Muhammad.

Justice Ariwoola was formally confirmed as the Chief Justice of Nigeria by the Nigerian Senate on September, 21, 2022.
