Abia State government, yesterday, said it is considering appropriate actions against the ruling of the High Court sitting at Nkwoagu in Umunneochi Council on the coronation and installation of Prince Eberechukwu Oji as the 9th Eze Arochukwu.
The state Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Mr Ikechukwu Uwanna, who disclosed this to The Guardian, said: “We have received the court order. We are studying it and will soon decide on it.” 
The trial judge, Chido Nwakanma, while ruling in the suit marked HUM/1/2024, ordered the state government to withdraw the staff of office given to Eberechukwu Oji and also restrain him from parading himself as Eze Aro, the 9th, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.
The suit was filed by the President General, Ibom Isii, Mazi Adolphus Nwankwo (for himself and on behalf of Ibom Isii); Mazi Kingsley Kanu Okoro Oke (for himself and members of the Kanu Okoro Oke and Asi Eko royal ruling families of Oro Okennachi); and Mazi Dike Ezenta (for himself and on behalf of all concerned ‘Umu Aro for Justice and Equity’ from the 19 villages of Arochukwu kingdom.
The defendants are Mazi Udo Chijioke, Nwa Mazi Pastor Eberechukwu Oji, all pastors listed for the coronation of the 2nd defendant, Sammy Wonder, and the Attorney-General General of Abia State.
Others are Governor Alex Otti, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Uzor Nwachukwu; the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Eze Kanu Nwa Kanu, and Mazi Godwin Idei Kanu Okoro Oke.
The plaintiffs/claimants argued that Godwin Kanu Idei was already crowned Eze Aro 9th on October 20, 2023, before Eze Aro Eberechukwu Oji was. The court also ordered all parties to revert to their former conditions and statuses before filing the suit, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit. It further restrained the respondents from harassing Godwin Kanu Idei.
