The meeting has been postponed, according to Daily Trust.

Ministers who were already seated for the meeting were seen leaving the Council Chambers Presidential Villa venue at about noon.

The meeting was said to have have been rescheduled due to the security meeting that is currently ongoing at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting is being chaired by President Bola Tinubu.

Though not much is known yet about the details of the security meeting, it may not be unconnected to the unrest occasioned by the nationwide protest against economic hardship.

The meeting is coming after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu gave a nationwide broadcast on Sunday morning, asking protesters to suspend their action and come forward for dialogue.

However, his broadcast does not appear to have changed anything as some Nigerians in many parts of the country still took to the street on Monday to continue the protest.
