Violence Occurs In Calabar As Thugs Attacks Journalists And Steals Palliatives Due To The Hunger Strike.
When the assault took place, the attackers stole some food items from the bus and seriously beat up some journalists.
Joseph Abasi-Abasi, who’s a reporter with Nigerian Tribune reporter, was injured during an attack on the journalists by the thugs in Calabar, Cross River State. And according to Daily Post, a 18-seater bus belonging to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) was sited and that it was transporting food items from the State Emergency Management Agency warehouse to the Ernest Etim Press Centre in Calabar. 
The attack took place at 10 a.m., with the thugs assaulting the bus driver of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) named Joseph Akpaenin, and a staff member, Saviour Ekpenyong. The food items on the bus were meant for the Nigeria Union of Journalistsn (NUJ) Cross River State Council.
Comrade Archibong Bassey, who’s the Chairman of the NUJ in Cross River State, has condemned the violence and theft that was carried out by the hoodlums.
