The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), yesterday, launched the Advance Ruling System (ARS) to accelerate cargo clearance in the country.
Unveiling the platform in Kano, NCS Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, said introduction of ARS, a global standard clearing facility, would enhance ease of doing business in Nigeria. 
He hinted that the service was partnering with World Customs Organisation and Nigeria Energy Support Programme to create public awareness on the application and process across the federation.
Represented by Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, Zone B, Sambo Dangaladima, the CGCS stressed that full implementation of ARS in cargo clearance underscores his organisation’s readiness to strengthen Federal Government’s policy on ease of doing business.
Adeniyi added that the current administration was resolute to entrenching transparency and accountability, adding that the NCS was determined to overshoot its over N5 trillion target before end of the second quarters.
Team Lead, ARS implementation, Chief Superintendent of Customs, Lauretta Utubor, explained that the process, enacted in NCS 2023 Act, would afford operators of the economy, trade and forwarding agents maximum protection of their rights.
