Is it yet time for the real Tribal Chief to make his long-awaited appearance?
The last time the WWE University saw Roman Reigns was on night two of WrestleMania XL which was held on April 7, 2024, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The self-proclaimed “Tribal Chief” or “The Head of the Table,” main-evented WrestleMania XL both on night one and night two.
On night one which was on April 6, 2024, Roman fought alongside his cousin The Rock (The Final Boss), against Seth Rollins and the now WWE Undisputed Universal Heavyweight Champion Cody Rhodes. The stipulation of that match was:
“If Rhodes and Rollins wins, there would be no Bloodline interference on the second night in the main event between Reigns and Rhodes but, if The Final Boss and The Tribal Chief Wins, then the main event of Night Two between Reigns and Rhodes Would be contested under ‘Bloodline Rules.’”
In that match, Cody and Seth lost to Roman and The Rock but on night two, despite the bloodline rules in full effect, Rhodes “Finished his story” by pining Roman and becoming the new Undisputed Universal Heavyweight Champion, and ending Roman’s reign as Champion.
Where Is Roman Reigns?
Following his match at WrestleMania XL where he lost his championship title which he held for 1,316 days, Roman is yet to appear or even step foot on a WWE ring. However, in his absence, a new “Tribal Chief” emerged in his cousin Solo Sikoa who was once his “Enforcer.” Solo went on to recruit the sons of Haku, Tama Tonga, and his younger brother Tanga Loa as his own pack of the bloodline.
The fourth and final member of Solo’s bloodline, Jacob Fatu, was introduced to the WWE Universe on the June 21 episode of Friday Night SmackDown during the main event of the match between Cody and Solo. In the match, there was no conclusion as to who the winner was because Tama Tonga and his brother Tanga Loa dived into the ring and attacked Cody thereby causing the match to be disqualified.
Towards the end of the June 28 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Solo asked the WWE Universe to “Acknowledge” him. A catchphrase made famous by Roman. He went on to announce Tama Tonga as his “Right Hand Man,” and asked him to acknowledge him, which Tama did with all pleasure. Infamous Tanga Loa did the same, as well as his “Enforcer” Jacob Fatu.
With Solo Sikoa as the new leader, it’s only natural that he’ll make changes. His first change was removing Roman’s “Wise Man” Paul Heyman by putting him through the commentators’ table simply because Paul refused to “Acknowledge” him like the rest did.
Will Roman Reigns Return At SummerSlam 2024?
Since Wrestlemania XL, Roman’s absence has been felt by both fans and non-fans because it seems like Solo is making a complete mess of everything he built within the bloodline. Granted, Roman’s reign wasn’t well received especially because of the way he treated his cousins Jimmy and Jay Uso from the get-go, but then, every Friday night on SmackDown, the WWE Universe calls out for Roman through their loud chants of “We Want Roman.”

After this past Friday night’s SmackDown which was on July 19, WWE fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to trend the name Roman for a good 48 hours. Most of them made predictions about the upcoming Summer Slam match in which Solo Sikoa would face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Heavyweight Championship.

Some X users predicted that Roman would show up in Cody Vs Solo’s match and help Cody defeat Solo, while others predicted that Solo would defeat Cody, and just when he would want to celebrate his victory, Roman would return and demand Solo to acknowledge him as the true Tribal Chief. Meanwhile, some are of the opinion that Roman’s return at SummerSlam is a bad idea because Solo has tasted power and would not want to give it up just yet, so Roman’s return will only make him an enemy of the bloodline he created.
Seeing how Solo and his pack of Bloodline is mopping the floor with Cody and his allies, do you also think that Roman’s predicted return at Summer Slam would make an impact?
